Also i would check the timing to make sure that the crank is in time with the cam. That was my problem. fixed it and all was better. Did a compresion test everything was ok.

what in the hell kind of sound is that? you're gonna need to describe your sounds better, man. relate the sound to something i've actually heard before. i've heard a lot of things, but numerous monkeys playing cymbols isn't one of them.

well if i was trying to trouble shoot...i would make sure the timing is set to spec first and go from there. any loss of power?

Cymbal. With an "a". Sorry, been playing drums for almost 20 years and it's a pet peave.

Set your crank pulley to TDC on the #1 cylinder (use the like I gave you) and make sure that the cam gear is lined up at TDC too.

edit:
Forgot the engine was a D15.

You're welcome, dude. Glad I could help.

Reset the lash on #3 again and redo your compression check.

What? Dude, a "vtech" is not going to help you fix a spun rod bearing. I'm confused.

If it's a SOHC you're looking for the JDM D15B VTEC motor can be had for cheap.
