id run it if i had no other options, but it definately would not be my first choice

i thought the pm7 and pg7 ecu's burn up more oil or something like that, i forget the turm i heard, they have higher red line but its not as good for your engine or something... i forgot how i read it worded...
im using a pm6 for my sohc zc right now, going to be chipping it for turbo soon hopefully

yes they let your motor rev higher, but the stock a6/sohc zc stops making power at about 6500-6700

Sorry to be picky but 92-93 PR4 is an OBD1 ECU and won't work unless he is converting to OBD1...just the 90-91 PR4 will work...
Also I say just use the pm6 and ideally you should used a chipped and tuned ECU to run the motor properly and to its full potential

i dont know why you reccomend that for..it will run pig rich and the "redline" will blow his motor...theres a shitload of ecu's that will work but the pm6 is basically perfect..

ive also been revving to 7500 boosted on the same stock motor and nothing has broken.

he is just tying to stop the spread of bad info and you should do the same the redline is set from the factory for a reason and yes you can go over it in a N/A you will mostlikely not benefit, a boosted app you may still make power above stock redline but in both cases you are putting more stress on parts that were designed to accomidate a certain amount of friction and all that goodies of mechanical science...over reving may no have any apprent negative effects but over a period of time will wear parts down and eventually lead to a failure, if you want to rev higher just do the proper valve train upgrades....also not all motors are the same, I mean there is stcok D motors making 300+ whp (Epic tuning hatch) on stock internals, not ever D is going to be capable of doing that same goes for over reving who knows your motor might be fine at 7500 but it could blow at 7600...same goes for anyone elses motor all depends on to many factors to say its safe for every motor, same goes for swapping ECUs from differnet cars/motors...the a6 is the closet the US has to the SOHC ZC use the PM6 or get a chipped ecu and a tune for you specific motor...
Ok ::END RANT::

i have had the PG7 for like 3 years never any problems at all. runs great. i love it with my motor.

i used a pm6 with the SOHC zc nonvtec and it was alright. It ran fine i also used a pg7 or the 89 integra ecu and i did not feel any difference but i think i actually got a little better gas milleage for some reason.
I used the 88-89 Integra ecu in a few sohc non vtec and sohc vtec's and they ran perfect. Maybe it was something other then the ecu that caused yours to run like ****! But what do I know...

Not a whole lot if you think a PG7 will run VTEC...
Pm6 is the BEST for a SOHC ZC. Ran it on mine no issues ever. PM7 and PG7 will run it but not as good. I wouldn't recommend the PR4 90-91 (whoever said 92-93 is running OBD1, not OBD0) because it will run a little too rich.

^^Yeah you know a lot recomending a pm6 which doesnt run vtec either dipshit. Jesus I remember why honda tech's only service is the search button. Anyways if you use any obd0 ecu besides a pr3 (b16) you will need something to activate vtec. I used a MSD rpm activated switch with "pills", ive see people activate vtec using tachs and shift lights.

then maybe you should search how vtec works..cause you cant just use a msd switch and have vtec...What about the extra timing and fuel?
anyway who cares about that the guy who started this thread has a soch zc so why use anything other then a pm6?

wtf... when was vtec coming into this convo... he is running sohc zc... so non vtec... everytime sohc zc is discussed everyone think of dohc that is vtec or of mini-me... sohc is non vtec, its the equivilent too to the usdm d16a6 so obiously the pm6 was made for it so obviously the pm6 is the best ecu for an sohc zc
