anyone snap an axle with falken aziens???
well i didnt snap mine but i let a friend use the tires with HX rims... and he snapped his axles... has anyone had this problem... ??? im kind scared to use them on my car... tire pressure was at 18 psi...
I'm no expert, but this sounds like one of those coincidence things...
I suppose it's possible that the tire had more grip that whatever tires he used before, thus putting more torque to the axle on a hard launch... but if the axle broke, then I'd say he needs stronger axles anyway, even if he's not running those tires, because his motor is putting out too much power for the stockers.

it was that low to make it grip better... then what else would it be if its not the tires???
It's full slicks and a 6000 rpm launch that will put axles more at risk. The Azenis grip still isn't even that of drag radials, so I doubt they over stresses the axles.

yo bro to tell you the truth man, your friend didnt break his axle by launching the car at 18psi and with those tires, cause i am running stock axles and my 20 inch Micky Thompsons mounted on HX wheels running at 10psi can handle at 7grand on a launch and still dont break axles, the secenerio was that he broke his axle on the burn out. done deal thats the truth and dont correct me cause i know he broke his axle on the burn out, after u break it the car wil still move, untill u get to the staging light thats when there will be more stress to the axle then it will just pop when u launch cause i break alot of axles and i know how it works, never do burn out if u dont have water at the pit, cause sometimes u can just be burnning out on the ground instead of just water, thats what it will causes to weaken the axle and then it will snap like a toothpick ( next time write W/B on your windsheild ) that'll save u from breaking axle's
could be a number of things. but more than likely, just weak axles. a buddy of mine busted his axles launching on 17inch volks with kumSLOW tires. go figure.

I have snapped my axles w/ Azenis.

What kind of clutch is he using. That can also hurt the axles. If he's running a Stage 4 Unsprung Hub-he's asking for some problems. Believe me I know. That's me problem right now. If you get a weak axle and downshift too much or do a lot of speed shifting. You're asking for trouble on stock axles.
I've gone through 3 sets of axles w/ my setup.
ACT 6 puck Unsprung Hub
ACT Extreme Pressure Plate
Stock Flywheel

azenis sidewalls are stiff as hell, so they do induce wheel hop more than tires with a softer sidewall. wheelhop is murder on your driveline, so i suppose the broken axle could be somewhat attributed to the azenis. but if the pressure was only at 18 psi, that sidewall should soften up a bit. i wouldn't blame the broken axle on just the tires themselves, and would say it was more likely a combination of an old axle (which is weak to begin with), too much power, clutch, and too harsh of a launch.
