1st build and have questions
i've rebuilding my d15b2. i'm thinking of using a crank and rods out of a d16y7 is this even possible i've done a little research i'm still tearing down to take it to a machine shop here in town. depending on if they can bore it or not will be my decision on what piston i go with. it's going to be all motor daily driver never really seeing a track at all. and i'm on a buget that doen't exist(i'm poor) plus the motor will be dpfi when i put the motor in but will be mpfi shortly after. plus i'm going to be using the stock head for now then going with a v-tec head i think. don't know what yet. HELP me please
it's for my gf's civic she's not really worry about power i just want to rebuild the motor so it will last another 300,000 miles but with just a little more power. plus she's doesn't want a turbo she want it to be all motor. but not expensive. plus it's her daily driver.
edit i don't want to just swap i want a rebuilt motor with no miles

well honestly a rebuild is going to make it quicker. 300k on a cars motor is sure to lose power, and when your only starting with 92hp you dont have a lot left..id just do a stock rebuild, mpfi swap and some bolt ons. No aftermarket internals honestly. Maybe the zex cam for the d16a6 it will fit in the 1.5 head that would be about it.
you should rebuild an a6 and throw that in
still cheap and reliable
its also a better platform to start with in case she wants more

well of course if i had a coose in a block i wouldn't choose a d15b2 to choose but i already have the motor. and i was thinking of doing a storker motor thing with the d15b2 and i was wondering what rod and crank i should use. i don't want to use aftermarket stuff because it would be more expensive compared to gong to a junkyuard and getting a crank and then getting stock rods new.
thank you for the info how about differnt rods? can i use differnt rods to create a bigger stroke or that wouldn't work huh? or is there any cranks that will work?
