Default how do I reset Maint Req'd light - new member

Hello all, I'm new here, I'm Stan. I have an '05 civic lx. and Live in the boston area

I have a 2005 civic LX. A gas station attendant left the gas cap loose, resulting in the main't req'd light blinking. This has happened before and I know this is the problem I want to avoid going to the dealer to reset the light.

does anyone know how to do this? or does it have to go back to be reset?

thanks for any info
Stan

When sealing the gas cap, you have to hear 3 clicks, before it's truly sealed. But, that won't clear the code for you. You can actually go to an Autozone or some sort of car parts shop and have them clear the codes for you.

if check engine light just pop your hood and take the neg off the battery (make sure you know the sterio security code) ....that will reset it

if manitenance req light ...then you can turn it off by holding down the odomiter button
