Default header wrap and cat temps (yes searched)

I have read all the opinions of wrap and rust and cracking
So I don't want to rehash that here

I want to know if it will make a big enough difference in cat temps to help pass smog

I plan on keeping my rev up while in line but would rather not sound like an impatient *** to the people and possibly make them be more picky about my car than they otherwise would.
So I wonder if this would let the cat cook at lower revs

Any experience and not just opinions are appreciated.

I havent read all your issues with the smog test...hav eyou ever though of giving the car a good half hour run on the highway before the test? Back when Illinois used to have the 'sniffer' test only...peeps would get there as soon as they opened, because they were always packed (at least the one near my house)...only to fail a lot of times. A tech there told me "go for a good 20-30 min drive on the highway before coming in...as long as the car is well maintained, you should pass"

He was right...Now I don't know about your situation..but reving the car in line may draw some unwanted attention.

I gave it 1.5hrs on the hwy , but the wait in line was about 30min
I was thinking of setting the idle to about 1200rpm(it hunts if I go higher)

we have sniffer only here for 91's
I failed on CO 1.2% limit 2.1%me
my HC was incredible limit 220ppm me 208ppm (I have scored 14,18ppm past 2 yrs)

thanks for answer
what do you think with a smog info?

PS
I just priced wrap locally (Nashville) and the $40 is more than I have now (new job don't pay till January), and I dont have time, or s&h for the cheap stuff from ebay
so its as is

here is my work so far

Theres a product out there called Guaranteed to Pass...I believe it just like using denatured alchohol. As we all know alchohol burns cleaner then gasoline.

oh yeah, that'll work but......
I wanna fix my car
not just pass

The rise in HC from 18ppm to 208ppm in one year worries me more than not passing, although I need to pass to get a tag

I have a tank full of xylene blend right now
just enough to raise it to 94oct or so, I have JDM so higher comp than US oct
