Hello all,

I just bought an 03 S2k equipped with a Comptech Supercharger kit. The previous owner don't know much about the supercharger and it is running like crap. He's a rich guy basically that pays a shop to put on the supercharger on his car.

Well anyhow, the car runs fine under 3500rpm. When you boost, the check engine light comes on and throw a knock sensor code. I forgot the code but it was something like bank 1 knock sensor.

What is the problem here? Any help/advise/wisdom is need here!

Bank 1? There's only 1 bank of cylinders. The knock sensor is on the side of the engine block. Check connectivity, then check the 2 TDC sensors on the valve cover by each cam.

 

But why would it throw that code? Do I need a timing controll unit? Or comptech setup is supposed to run as is out of the box?

 

Comptech kit should have come with everything you needed.
