Hard fuel line to braided fuel feed line Q.
I know ive read it before in the past but i just can't find if for the life of me. How do you attach the AN fittings to the fuel feed hardline?
thanks
thanks
flare the end of the aluminum and get a male / male AN fitting then put braided from there.
flare union

and the tube nut that goes on the end of the hard line.

those are compression fittings and are usable (i'm using one on my K hatch) but alot of people frown on them. the safest way to do it is to use tube nuts and sleeves. but remember that when you flare the line for an AN fitting its a 37* flare (if i remember right).

When i flared my fuel line (5/8" aluminum line) I used a regular flaring tool to start the flare then used a spare -10an fitting and tightened the tube nut onto the extra fitting, made it PFT and then took the fitting off = Instant correct -an flare degree. Just an idea for some budget minded people out there that don't flare -an stuff all the time and don't see the need to buy the correct flaring tool.
Cheap? - yes
Effective? - yes
Best way to do it? - no
Works just as good - yes
Don't like it? - don't do it
