Default No oil pressure?

I started up my newly build K24/K20A today and checked if it had oil pressure. I have started it up one time before only for a few seconds. I let it run for 5 seconds and the oil pressure light did not go out. I tried to crank it over without the coil and injector plugs connected but it did not help. The engine sounds fine but I'm affraid to run it for more than 5 seconds if there is no oil pressure. I have a 12 inch hose connected from the org. outlet on the block to a T bracket where the oem switch and a Autometer sensor is connected. I figure that it will take some time before the hose is filled with oil but 5 seconds sounds to long for me. Has anyone experience with this "problem" ?

It generally takes alot of cranking before you get oil pressure after a fresh build. It should be turned over without cranking (to prevent heat exposure w/ no oil). It could also be a clogged oil filter, though that is somewhat unlikely.
