is there someplace on the harness that says that it is DOT approved? so that if a cop gives me crap about it i can show them.

i don't see it there. i just want to know if there is any marking on the belt that says it's DOT approved

The stitched anti-submarning flap on one of the shoulders is covered by a rubber square. The rubber square has the approval info on it, but I think it does not say 'DOT Approved' outright. I believe it refers to the FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) that are fulfilled.
