hey i just put a 2000 ex motor on my civic well i didnt have the correct dist. so we cut the harness and spliced a 2000 connector on it. and my civic is a 97 and we matched all the colors but there were 2 blue wires and and 1 on the harness was alone that was not connected. but any ways the tach goes all the way to red line and goes back and forth. not sure what the problem is.

why would you do that! why wouldn't you just pop the pins out of the plugs and put them in the new plug. I would definitely solder the wires and shrink wrap and go from there. if the problem still persists could be the ignitor on its way out
