Check engine light

i have a h22a in my 1992 accorrd the check engine light is on , i am running a p28 , my question is if my check engine light is on will it throw my car into a saftey mode ???

Yes, it will go to 'limp' mode ignoring certain sensors

so is it better to run a p13 b/c i think it's my ecu it is a automatic ecu , so if you know anyone with a p13 5-speed vtec ecu let me know *PLEASE*

Just find someone that knows how to mess with ecus they can make it a 5 speed ecu because its hard to find a p13 but if you can find one get it always better to have the ecu made for motor.
