Default problems starting...help me diagnose the problem

my car died on me a couple weeks ago and i was pretty sure it was a fuel problem. i had spark, timing was good, and the battery is good. someone suggested to take off the gas cap to release the pressure so i did and the car started, idled for a minute then started bogging and finally the car shut off. the fuel pump still primes every time so im not sure if its bad. what could be the problem? fuel pump? fpr? fuel filter?

Get your hands on a fuel pressure gauge, and hook it up to the fuel filter.. See what the pressure is at when cranking then come back to us. This is the easiest way to diagnose a fuel problem IMO.
