Default Cam chain sprocket bolt doesnt go in

My friend took his head off to replace it with a 3mm headgasket to prepare for his GT35 turbo and everything is going back on fine but the bolt that goes into the cam chain sprocket doesnt go in all the way. He says as he starts to turn it, you can see shavings. What does he do? is there a certain way to get this last bolt on??

1) Chain tension
2) Special Purpose Bolt

In one of my older builds I had a Cometic 3 mm gasket and the sprocket bolt went in just fine. Did your friend remove the cam chain tensioner? If he didn't there is no way to get it in.

No he didnt remove the cam chain tensioner. He figured it out after i posted. I guess cause it was almost 1am and he is trying to prep his car for that sweet sweet turbo. Will post pics soon when he's done.
