Car jerks when shifting high rpms 99 civic si!!!
hey guys,i have a b18c1 swap in my civic, when i get to really high rpms, like 7k and shift, the car jerks and doesnt really go into the next gear smoothly,i have a new exedy stage 1 clutch,no strut bar(dunno if that will help),maybe its a motor mount, hmm,or the new 1.8 engine is more powerful for the chasis?
Sounds like your motor mount(s) are bad. Buddy of mine has the same problem and his mounts are shot to hell. Every time he revs it to 8k and shifts, you can feel the motor shaking.

? hmmm... i don't know but you can check the mounts by looking for rip's and/or having someone load the car and see if the motor is is shifting to much
Motor Mounts x2 ... If you dont want to spend the ca$$$h on new ones - you could inject silicon and stiffen them up a bit. Do your tires spin when this jerking occurs? Does it jerk when shifting @ high rpm's from 3rd to 4th? Could be a traction prob.
to check ur mounts put ur ebrake all the way up as tight as u can
then have some one look at ur mounts
and put it in first gear and act as if ur letting it ouT OF GEAR AND WHOEVERS LOOKING AT THE MOUNTS SHOULD SEE IF THE MOTOR IS MOVING up and down. f not then it noe the mounts

First, check your lower torque mounts(the ones at the bottom). If those are shot, you get get ES Bushings for relatively cheap, or solid ones like I have. Then the other three. They're roughly $50-$100 at the dealership per, or you can get an aftermarket kit for about the same.
