Easiest way would be to unbolt it, but depending how your cat is set up, you may need to hack saw it off an inch or two down the pipe away from the cat, and then you want a really long heavy duty screw driver (flathead) or a cro-bar. Just stick the screw driver or cro-bar into the car and swirl it around abit and it should knock the honeycomb type stuff out. Or if you have someone who's really good at welding, cut the cat in half, hollow it out and have that person re-weld it back together.

street car? if so use a high flow cat, gains are marginal unless you have a sick build and your car will stink, high flow cat ftw.

 

just leave it alone. it's not like your making enough power to benefit from it.

 

Unbolt your cat, turn that thing vertically, put one foot on each end of the flange and grab and drill and have at it (make sure you secure it, if it catches it will spin and mess up your shins). Worked for me and it only took about 10 minutes. A long screw driver will help push out the small chunks.

 

I wouldn't buy a brand new one to ruin, I mean if you're gonna buy a brand new one I'd put it on and use it as it's supposed to be used. Myself I'd yank one from another car, (or use your own old one) and hollow that one.

 

replace the cat, gutting it will just leave you with a loud, smelly car with a CEL (if OBD2)

Easiest way by far.

 

just get a test pipe and save yourself the hassle if you are this hardcore
