Default FPR needed? and Valvetrain questions

i have a 98 GSR right now with i/h/e i wanted to go with JDM CTR/ITR cams Skunk2 gear, retainers, springs and a vafc. do i need an FPR or will the stock one do?

also, for CTR/ITR cams do i really need an upgraded valvetrain? if so, what do you suggest? i just wanted something reliable, ill probably be keeping the stock 8100 rpm redline, no money for a chipped ecu or hondata, standalone ect.

u should be fine w stock fpr, other ones give u adjustability...wouldn't hurt to get one though...u have skunk2 retainers and springs? that is ur upgraded valve train. but if u only want to rev to 8100 u should be coo on stock gsr valvetrain.

an adjustable fpr will help (but you wil run fine on the stock regulator),you will need to dyno tune to know how much pressure you need with your setup.

Stock springs will be fine.

If you are going with CTR/ITR cams all you need to do is move the inner and outer intake springs to the exhaust side and replace the intake springs with the ITR valve springs. Those should be fine for 8500 RPMs. You aren't really going to be making power above there. The Skunk2 valvetrain isn't worth the money for what your application.

FPR is always good to have when dyno tuining the motor. If your not planning to dyno anytime soon and just have the basic mods. dont even touch the fuel pressure at all. it moght hurt the engine or have it at the wront setting and lose power in the long run.
