ball joints and poly bushings, what do you know about them????????????
i'm finishing up my bushing upgrade and now i have came to a hault. i can't seem to figure out how to install the poly boot on the ball joints.
i doesn't fit with the original boot on. and i cut the boot out (from the old ball joint i removed) and not only does it it flimsy, but i can't seem to get the ring clip on to hold the boot in place. this is getting quite fustrating.

This is the process I used when I installed my ES boots:
Took all remnants of the boot off, including the wire ring.
Wiped away crud, put a dollop of grease in the poly boot and on the exposed portion of the joint and placed the boot on the balljoint.
Reattached the balljoint to the suspension arm and tightened the castle nut. Installed cotter pin.
There's nothing retaining the poly boot onto the balljoint other than pressure. It works just fine.

If the new poly one doesn't hold itself in place firm, just go buy a new rubber one at the Honda dealership. They should be like $3....
