Default Aem underdrive pulley question.....

hello......around how many horsepower does aem underdrive pulley increase? is the difference noticeable? and i hear that if you get it, all of your electric functions become messed up....is that true?? please help me. Thanks.

Pulley dont do much for your car... all it does is change the rotation speed of your alternator, PS, etc... what ever that belt is connected too. its like the gears on ur mountain Bike the bigger the diameter the less Rotation the smaller the diameter the faster the rotation. Hope that helps

i have aem pulleys.. they helped out a little bit.. not much though.. as far as systems.. at idle my lights used to dim when the bass would hit, but i fixed that by using 2gauge wire and a cap..

well if you 'must' have a pulley do not get the underdrive ones, get the stock sized ones from unorthodox racing

There would not be any benefit to getting a regularly sized pulley. As for the amount of power it makes, expect 4-5hp in an Accord. This may not sound like much, but the power would increase across the board, improving acclereation more than an intake or header would on their own. The AEM's work better because they do not affect the crank pulley, they only change out the others, leaving the harmonic dampener in place.
