Default Wich T3/T04 to choose for my goals on a B16

Well my goals are concentrating on spool, since the motor will only have thicker head gasket and ARP bolts, i want a turbo that could make 350-maybe 400WHP, but the biggest concern is that i want to have boost at 4k rpm. I'll be using a manifold similar to spoolins quick4, so a short tubular mani.
Wich t3/T04 should i get the garret ones? Or do i want these https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1828097 they have a good price, but i see no difference between geting a garret or that one.

So help me out with the choice.

T3/T04E 50trim .48ar should spool by 4k on your setup...

And what power will that turbo support, or how much does it flow?

that turbo will make into the 400hp range, but i doubt it will be happy in doing so...if you are looking for more power in the future, just go with a T3/T04E 57trim .63 ar. You'll lose a little spool, but you'll gain the top end

no, it seem to be quite the thing i'm looking for.
Any idea how much it should cost? Pointers where to look for one?

I agree with the T3/T04E 50 trim BUT would do the .63 A/R. I had an old DRAG 3 kit on my stock B16A motor back in 2000, it came with a T3/T04B S trim and .63 A/R Stage 1 turbine wheel it maxed out at 370whp 21psi, the turbo was small as **** . The T3/T04E we posted above will work great, spool pretty well and make the power.

You could go with a GT28RS or a GT30R but then price is getting much more expensive than a T3/T04E turbo. A 57 trim may work also, I have one for sale $550 shipped if interested

So you say i should go for a 50 trim .63A/R? I now nothing on wich turbo is "mached" right, but i was told for instance that the gt2871R is kind of mismatched. With this in mind wich is better for the 50trim, .63 or .48 ?

You're also saying you had a t3/t04b S trim, how does that make it different from what i'm looking into?

the T3/T04E 50 trim .63 ar would probably be a better choice on a B16 since it revs to 8k......the .48 would spool faster, but probably not work as well up top....

i think gt2871 would work perfect. high 300's with excellent spool characteristics. If you want to save some $ go with the 50 trim. That turbo should be efficient until ~350hp.

Since i'm the one asking questions because i don't know stuff.
How does the B in the T04b make the turbo perform different? I think that the trims are too big, aren't they? I only want in the
350- max 400WHP range.

As stated earlier, a .48 does not properly support the powerband of a b16. I would only go w/a .63 or a .82BB.

I have a t3/t4e 57 trim and love it w/an .63 exhaust.

Good turbo/price/power.

Look @ sig for more info.

And now the most important question... when do you see full boost? at what boost levels? You still have 1600 displacment, right? What is your compression like?

57 trim .63a/r, spools really nice and pulls all the way to 9k. I think start boosting around 3-3.5k i once made 18 psi by 5600 rpms.

What is your manifold setup?
Do you have a dyno sheet? What's your compression?

here is my 9:1 compression b16 with a 50trim .48 A/R..low boost obviously...but you can kind of see where my torque peak etc. is....for as much power as you want i'd go with a .63 or a .82 ball bearing.

Thanks, a dyno sheet is always nice!
I'm just wondering why you didn't rev the motor to 8500rpm?

Isn't the .82BB in the $1000 range? I'm not spending that on a turbo, well not now.
It would be great if someone had dynos of the 50 trim .63A/R or something from the 57 trim.

can you run those injectors without injector clips because you have the resistor box? It's not making sense to me, since i was told that if i get the saturated 780s i'll need injector clips because my car is obd2a but will be converted to obd1. So do you have the clips?

I'm looking for a dyno on low boost. How much pressure do i need on a stock motor with a 9:1 compression to make something like 230WHP on a 50trim .63A/R?

all 92-up injectors (obd1 or obd2) will be high resistance and wont need resistor boxes... if you use peak and hold, you will need a resistor box... if you use saturated, you wont...
injector clips are totally different then needing a resistor box, the clips just make sure you can actually clip on to the injectors, thats it.. its got nothin to do with their resistance..

oh, and i had a 60 trim garrett t304e, gets full boost around 4500, and its capable of 400

This I would agree with. Though on another Civic SI B16A, I actually used the GT2871R. The car needed to stay internally-gated so it was a nice choice.
