heatercore help

Default heatercore help

ok I know both ***** are on hot and only letting heat in....i grab both lines on my heatercore in the engine and one line is hella hot and other line is warm...so that leads to a plugged heater core right????question is how do I change the heatercore, search on here but the links for pictures dont work anymore....

Look up the "CRX Workshop manual" in the FAQ. You might be able to flush it out too. Have you tried flushing teh system yet?

no but i heard to put a hose on it so I am gonna try that tomorrow sense I got off work late today....hoping that unclogs my heatercore....but do I have to pull dash or can I do it with it in there???

You don't have to take off the dash, you can run a hose into the radiator using a flush kit, just make sure your heat control is set all the way hot so it gets to your heater core lines.

if you do have to replace it you gota pull out the dash not tooo hard. but definatly try uncloging it first.

thanks guys for the tips I gonna be attacking this thing tomorrow...getting freaking cold here in cali now....let you know what happens tomorrow

ok guys it wont come unclog but I got the dash pretty lose and dont know whats holding it on but i guessing the wires...but what do I need to take off now that the dash is lose to get the heater core out I can see it on the bottom but I dont think it will come down without undoing the whole thing...any advice???

finally got it dont after 6 hours of pain in the *** work taking it out and putting new one in...thing I learn is how its so easy pull the dash off now after 3 hours looking at how to get it off ....other than that I am loving my honda that much more now after going with a heater here in cali for 2 years!!!

word of advice I just did the same thing, get yourself a service manual from http://www.helminc.com full factory service manual. Has the part numbers etc. Makes taking apart the rex easy.
