The 115 octane probably hurt more than it helped on a stock motor. The Prelude runs really rich right out of the box, so the higher octane probably was not helping things...

15.0 is pretty good for a stock Prelude 5th gen. The fastest bone stock 5th gen Prelude I've ever heard of was the 14.7 run by Sev in his 1998 TypeSH. He had full leather interior with nothing removed but the jack and spare tire. Sev made multiple 14.7x and 14.8x runs in that car.

15.02 is still quite good though for a Stock G5. Of course the tires helped alot. And 14.8 in a 195hp SH is downright amazing.

147-14.8 in a stock SH? That's amazing...

I'd bet he unbolted his muffler...if not even open header for that.

Nope. All stock. Stock RE-92 tires too. Again, the only thing he removed was the spare tire and jack, which saves maybe 30 lbs... This was at Napierville Dragway in Quebec. The temp was about 40 degrees F.

Here's his old site:
http://pages.infinit.net/sev/home.html
He had the timeslip scanned in and posted there somewhere at one point in time, although I cannot find it now...

Sev is an excellent driver. He has a S2000 now in which he regularly ran 13.7s bone stock. I think he's still a member on this site.

Unless you have some real power, unbolting the muffler doesn't do much, i've tried it back to back.

"tubbed out" LOL!

apex- who would love to see a tubbed out lude!

I gained 9 whp by unlboting the muffler on my AFTERMARKET exhaust...on a stock H22A. I've tried doing it running the stock exhaust and there is a power difference there too.
