Default quick compression question

i have a jdm d16a vtec...these motors supposidly have higher compression than a reg d16z6 but im not too sure how much higher it is. I was considering turboing this motor (tho its a daily driver..i would go low low boost) would my compression be too high? would i have to get a thicker HG bc im not too into doin that-- btw motor has around 65k on it. Thanks

It's not high enough to rule out F/I. If anything it'll help a bit, maybe cost you a deg or 2 of timing, but i'm starting to get long winded arn't I?

You will be a-ok to boost it if its strong running motor.

Yes, and if I were you i'd do your ecu stuff first and install it tune it now, and when you finally get your turbo on you just need to retune and be set plus during turbo install, no worries of getting the ECU stuff done.

i still suck *** at even figuring out where to begin tuning (other than getting the ecu chipped) i went to the crome site and everything and i just become instantly confused. will i need a wideband o2 in order to do this? and dont i need some sort of PC-to-car adapter? haha

Cromes site or pgmfi or what ever that site is with a clusterfuck of letters?

Are you planning to do all the work and tuning yourself or send it out, also if you really want you might want to go to a place like philly dyno works and kinda hang out if they will let you you'll see it all first hand and that really helps to learn.

once you see it done the mystries start to fall away, to master it is somthing i'm years from even pretending to do, but reading online i found it hard to put 2 and 2 together till i saw it in person, most other things I could grasp but tunning i needed to see in person.

right right..i see...now i just looked at the philly dyno site --so lets say i wanted them to do the tune..i would just get my ecu chipped and then take my car to them? you think that would be a waste since im just a stock motor with bolt ons?
