Yet another EGR topic
ok i have a hesitating cd5. i cleaned out the egr ports they were clogged. the hesitation went away for two days then it came back. i wantedut i could not get a good enought an to clean out the egr valve ble to turn a wrench or to fit a swivel. i wonder if its the egr valve at all. i checked for codes but came up with nothing. i recently replaced the spak plugs and spark plug wires with O.E ones also the pcv and rocker seals. i think the egr valve maybe failing, i think its stuck, not open or clsed but stuck open half way. can anyone give me any input?
with the engine at idle stick yer finger in there and push up to open the EGR, see if it stumbles or dies. Then you can put vacum on it to see if it does the same thing.
Trust me, if that EGR was stuck open the car would have a really rough idle if it would idle at all.

i know it wouldnt idle at all if it was completely open. but dont u think it may stay stuck open in some ocassions? i pushed the diaphragm up and the egr seamed to be working fine ( the car started to stumble) now how do i put a vacuum on it?

Well to find out for sure if the miss is caused be the EGR system, unplug the vacum line and plug it off and go for a test drive with the engine fully warm.
EGR stumble and missing will always occur under light to medium throttle around 1700 RPM

sorry about the spelling the laptop was trippin and i didnt check my writting. i was saying that i wanted to take off the egr valve to see if it had a carbon ball stuck there or something, i couldt get a good enough angle to turn the nuts with a wrench or a swivel socket. i heard theres a "special" tool to remove the egr valve since its in a tough spot to remove with a regular tool
