wheel bearing race stuck
OK I did a search and didn't come up with anything.
when I pressed the hub out of the wheel bearing on the front, it split apart and the inner race is stuck on the hub. based on the helms, it seems like it's supposed to do this. It even mentions a bearing separator to get this thing off of the hub. I asked at autozone and got blank looks. anyone got a good way to do this or a place I can get the tool at? I tried prying on it but that was no help.
this always seems to happen with me also!
i just get my 3jaw pulley a socket and piece of metal and take it out. what i used to do before is just take it to the mechanics shop pay 5 each and have them do it!
shops always have the best tools

I thought about using a puller like you said but It doesn't look like there is enough room to get the "fingers" under the race. it's got to be super thin whatever it is.
apparently harbor freight has a bearing splitter for like $20. It's kind of a PITA to go there but i might have to. I just bought a shop press, so If I have to buy a few small tools to get full utilization of it, I will.

its pretty common.
you can try heating the race.
you can also try to cut a slit to bang it loose to rotate it.
or you can use that cutting tool to make 3 divets for the bearing puller to claw onto.
yeah, its a pain.

I always messed with the heat and pull method. Then I watched someone do it this way in less than two minutes...

Im having the same problem with the wheel bearing inner race. Its stuck on the rear spindle shaft and i cant get it off. Is there something thats holding it on like a bolt or something? I thought i was suppose to slide right out. Any help would be great. Thanks.
