Default Wheel bearing - scratched my hub

I'm in the middle of changing my wheel bearing in my 1997 Civic EX. Saw a thread about using a cutoff wheel to cut the inner race out and I realized I cut too far, too late. FYI don't use that method, just jam a screwdriver where they meet and pound with your hammer, it'll push the race out enough to use a slide hammer.

Anyways, now there's 1 small groove where I cut past the inner race and into the hub. Does this affect anything? I've wiped everything down and this is the only spot that I cut too deep.

I'm looking at everything and the inner race doesn't look like it will move/spin on the hub because it's pressed in and very very tight. So I'm assuming that it will be fine, but if I'm wrong can anyone tell me what that groove on the hub will do?

Default Re: Wheel bearing - scratched my hub

Just to update - couldn't figure out a way to get my new bearing in at home so I took it to the machine shop and they pressed it in for $30. He looked at the gouge and said it should be fine. After I get the car back together I test drive it and realize my other wheel bearing is making a hum too. FML
