friend of mine is changing his 91 ls head for a LS dc2 head NOT FOR AN "UPGRADE"., we had a dc head laying around there. ok so now my friend bent some valves on the 91 head, and possibly cracked the head(long story short), we gave the car and the dc head to a mechanic, sorta a friend of ours...tp swap out heads.

ok we just want to know the differences of the 2 heads..i think the dc is a PR4?...is it the same as the DA?..we just want to see if the mechanic really did his job on changing heads....thanks

 

check for stamp above the 3-4 header pipe there should be a year stamp on it

they are exactly the same cast

the only difference are the cams are slightly more agressive on the 94+ head and intake manifold is a different design as well, but the bolt pattern is the same

 

hhmm, so there is no way to tell?...unluckily for me because i will be putting on the same VC on, and the intake manifold as well

 

there is a stamp on the head that indicates the year, it is on the exhaust side and looks like some sort of small dial with the year stamped on it

if it is 93+ then it is from a DC integra

thanks dude, i couldnt tell the year, but i saw another head laying around the mechanics house, i kinda sneaked in and saw a head ther, i believe it was a p8r?...and the head on my car says pr4...sooooo....is the p8r the da one?

 

No, the p8r is off a b20, and alittle rare because they are non-vtec but have vtec sized valves.

You have been told twice now to look at the head on your car, above the header are numbers in circles. The left most number will be your year of head. If it has a 9/3 or higher, then it definitely is different than the 91 you had.

Tell us what number you find in the left most circle.

so i just got back my car couple days ago, ok now i really think this guy ripped me off, i think he never changed the head...i checked to see what year the head is and these are the numbers i saw (the little circles above the header

(9/0) (1/1) (9/1) (0/0) PR4-6 so he claims its a dc head

the front circle indicated the year right?....well my car is a 90

and i checked to see the oil and there was no oil in the motor, i put about 2 quarts of oil and i drove it for about 5 minutes, i checked the oil...PITCH BLACK!!! as if he never even drained the oil!!!

i checked the spark plugs and it has traces of water so its missfiring a little, and awhole bunch of things were missing from my car, and the passenger side JDM headlight (onepeice) is broken and he said that someone backed into him...and my LS lip was missing from the front bumper....i cant believe this happened to me!!!
ive spent about 500 bucks on this *******.....

 

sounds like he didnt do **** and screwed you over, didnt do any work, wrecked your car and stole your lip

go back and tell him that if he does not refund your money then you will police, file a report file a report and take him to court

I would also take a nice big bat to his car in the middle of the night, shady people get no sympathy from me

thing is, i cant do anything, it's hard to get a hold of him, and i can never find him in his house...if i get a police report, its a for shure fact that he will jack my car, he knows where i live
