installed b18a into crx all gears go in fine but reverse grinds and wont go in, i cut my shift linkage , could that be the problem??

 

you know reverse has no syncros so you have to put it in 1st-4th before you put it into R. if you already knew that and it still does it anyways, sorry i have no clue.

 

More than likely there is nothing wrong with your tranny. Like stated above, You do not have syncros in reverse. So yes put shift the tranny into 1st or 3rd then into Reverse and the grinding will go away.

 

Or it could be that your clutch cable is too loose and the clutch isnt fully engaging. At the clutch arm, there should only be a little bit of play, maybe a centimetre's worth.

 

im mo expert but ive had a couple of hondas and most of my friends have hondas. b series d series, etc... and at some point weve all had problems with reverse what i usually do is let the car roll a little slowly try to put in reverse and slowly push the clutch further down.
