Ok guys so i picked up this new car about 3 weeks ago. Since i picked it up the battery light will stay on in the morning when the car is cold. When the car warms up the light will go off. So i took it to a local autoparts store to get the charging system checked. They tested it and told me the battery is bad. Then they checked the alternator and told me that it seems the its the battery. But if its a bad alt. then the battery would not be getting a full charge right? Also i have been driving this car with no problems for the past three weeks it has not died or left me stranded at all. Where would you guys start?

 

next time you can when its cold started put a volt meter on the battery posts and tell us what it is.

 

yea...it could be the battery...if the batter light comes on...its pointing to the alternator...but try swapping batteries...
