Default How do u Tighten the T-Belt ?

i have a 90 integra that my T-belt is popping over the cams... how do i tighten it ?

get a timing belt that fits

there is a t bolt tensioner. rights down a bit. i think its a 14mm bolt.

turn the motor until the belt is really tight on the exhaust side of the belt then loosen the tensioner bolt push up the tensioner and tighten it again while holding the tensioner as high as you can push it. and call it a day,.

Your suppose to turn the crank pulley about 3 times, then stop at the 3 teeth pass the TDC mark, then tighten the tensioner.

dont really matter where you stop as long as its tight.

push up what the belt ?

no push up the tensioner as high as you can push it. The way im telling you is the easiest way to do it. Trust me ive done like 100+ timing belts.

if the tbelt is skipping over teeth i would put a new timing belt first of all and chances are the tensior isnt far behind... loosen the 14mm on the time of the t belt cover and rotate engine counter clockwise and the retighten 14mm to tighten the belt
