I got an '88 HB with a stock motor and 4 speed tranny. About 8 months ago(before I got it)a new clutch was installed. I'm gonna be getting a Y8 motor here soon and am wanting to go to a 5 speed tranny. My question is can I take the clutch from the 4 speed and use it in the 5 speed or is this even possible?

The tranny I got now is for a d15b2....
I am gonna get whatever tranny comes stock with a d16y8

wait a sec, if you are mixed up or mistyped do you have a d15b2 tranny or a 4spd from a d15b1?

 

sorry about that......I got a 4 speed tranny for a d15b1.

Sadly no reuse of the clutch, also you are aware of the cable and hydro issue?

spend some time in the f.a.q. hasport should have mounts.

Others have covered installs of the s20? or what ever code the y8 tranny is alot better then I could plus i'm sleepy and don't want to type
