Default Tps sensor?

My car idles funny after a minute or so once started. After a while my idle will just get stuck really high. Could this be because of a bad tps sensor? what does a tps sensor do? HAppy Holidays

As long at the TPS is reading .5 closed and 4.5 open I doubt that will be the cause of the idle problem.

Search about how to clean the FITV.

Yeah I cleaned the IACV a while back with carb cleaner, didnt seem to make the problem better.

I believe my o2 sensor is good, Theirs no check engine light on.

We also did a motor swap, with another stock motor, and my climate control has no power, do u know where i could look to hook it back up? thanks

haha..i just watched your vid..thats some fucked up ****. I dunno man, but i just asked a TPS question and noone replied. my cel 7 went on but then it went off (TPS). It has never came on again and I dont know if it was an ECU glitch or a problem waiting to reoccur again.

Unplug your ECU, find the pin for the TPS sensor, get a multimeter and test that pin and see what voltages you get.

Start your car with the TPS unplugged, see if this makes your car run differantly (it should). If it doesnt make it run differant then your TPS is most likly bad. I have always had bad luck with the TPS, every swap i do i have to replace the TPS because of poor idle problems

Well i figured out my TPS problem...One of the wires i sottered was exposed and grounding itself out on the block. I fixed it, hopefully thats that. Still idles wierd sometimes, drops to low rpms during idle and ****.

Hey bud i dont know if you have fixed the problem yet or not but i think what the prblem might be or have been is your throttle body gasket. I had the exact same problem with my honda and i changed the gasket for the correct one and it fixed it just like that. So if its not fixed yet than give that shot and good luck.
