Default ITR catalytic conv.

Is modifying the stock cat w/ the 2.5" flange even worht it. The whole point of a bigger diameter cov. is to free up exhaust gases for more HP. So my question is what kind of restrictions will I come acorss if I don't buy the aftermarket cat and just modify the stock ITR to fit a 2.5 collector/ jdm header? Thanks, Paul

It's not worth modifying an expensive stock cat. Get a highflow 2.5" from SMSP or IPS.
