SI sedan grille question....

Default SI sedan grille question....

i saw an article on 8thcivic about putting the si grille on the ex. i have the grille, NOT to make it look like an SI but we hate the chrome. the mounting spots are different and someone said about the backing panel for it, can anyone tell me about this and how it works?

the guy wrote this "depends on how mechanically inclined you are....it might be easier to get the back piece that it is supposed to mount too.....it didn't appear to be different on the parts computer but when I got it it was totally different in how it mounts...." then he added this pic

If you get the sedan SI piece it should fit the exact same way. The coupe piece may be different.

The grill is physically two pieces. The front with the color, and the back plastic piece. You could use either the stock black plastic piece if you want but it will require new mounting points that you will have to customize. The other choice is to buy the grill with the si sedan back plastic piece and put it on that way.

thats what i needed to know, cool, i am going to the dealership tommorow to order the the back peice. so if i get the back peice it wil all bolt up to the stock bumper?
