ok, my engine builder stopped working on my bottom end until he can call arias on monday. i have arais 10:1 high silicon pistons. he says we want the low silicon ones. i'm shooting for 650 whp. any insight?
If I recall the lower the silicon content, the lower the piston will expand at high temps....Yeah I would go a little lower in compression, but there are others on HT are running 10:1 compression on there drag cars with great success. The higher the compression, the lower the boost you have to run to reach the same HP number as someone with 9:1 compression.
Personally I would'nt care what your builder says, I would talk to your tuner and get his advise on pistons! Because he is the one that's going to work magic with your engine, and you engine builder shouldn't even be talking to you about your pistons, just put the damn engine together.

he's not assembling, i am. he's just doing the machine work. but he knows his ****, builds lots of drag and circle track motors. but we figured out my pisons are 10:1 in a gsr, so they will be around 9:1 in my B16. but i trust this guy, we have known him for a while now and has never steered us wrong yet
