i just finished putting in the new clutch and flywheel, started up the engine and got a CEL... havnt gotten around to diagnosing it yet though. but the engine makes the same whirring noise you hear from the transmission in reverse, but like all the time, even in neutral with the clutch in. Any ideas what it could be? Im' stumped... since the project didnt involve the engine lol.

 

isn't the whirring noise from the gears. when it was snowing and super cold here the other week, my brother's wrx was making that noise in every gear w/ or w/o the clutched depressed. i asked him about it and he said it was normal. but since you got a CEL you ought to get that checked out before you start throwing questions out. good luck dude.
