as title states. the little light has indicated to me that i am throwing code 17. any info on what it is and how to fix it would be apprectiated!

also i have a std. motor si tranny stock ecu that came with the car. have had no swapp-age done so, yeah. obdo, dual mutli-port. i have searched says it has something to do with the speed sensor. my speedo cable is busted, but i don't know about my speed sensor. how does this work?

If your sppedo cable is broken that is your problem. It will throw code 17-vss speed sensor. The gauge cluster produces the signal from the speedo cable turning. No cable no signal.

well i have had the speedo cable break before and replaced it but never threw a code.

 

don't know why, but when the cable turns the speedometer cluster in dash produces a signal for every so many turns that the ecu will detect. I have had electronic parts on my car go bad and never receive a cel.

 

replace cable! no more what if's!
