Re-designed Avid Traction bars
a few weeks ago i made a thread asking about the avid racing traction bars. in that thread i was contacted by Autoworks and informed that Avid had redesigned their traction bars to be similar to the full-race bars.
After talking with autoworks i decided that i would go ahead and try their new style bar (its possible that i am the first customer with the new bars).
I'm posting pictures of the new bar to show everyone here the redesigned bars, as well as being at the request of autoworks, who should be posting a picture of their old style bar.
minus a few minor things that bother me, it looks like a great product, i can see that theres TONS of room free'ed up in the engine bay without even installing it yet.
anyways enough babbling heres the pictures.

i'm either going to install them tonight or on sunday and i'll update with installed pictures then

wait a little while if these are the bars you want, i'm not sure if they're selling the new generation bars to the public yet. Autoworks might be able to shed a little light on that

Thanks for posting the info up
I don't think they are really selling them to the public yet. I think Avid is moreso trying to get them out to distributors so that they can be shown and sold. I say that because there isn't any info for the public to see to buy them...this is actually my 1st time seeing it. I'm supposed to have the new catalogues in the mail to see the new parts, but it hadn't made it here yet.
I beleive that bar was one of the first new ones sold. (had to wait on parts to come in for it to ship)
The radius rods definately look beefier on the new bar
Greound clearance should be good also.
EDIT: Also, the U shaped brackets you have there didn't come with the old style bar. Mine were more L shaped.

like i said on the phone, Avid still has their old style up on their site.
i'm glad i could be a part of promoting this. i feel that its a good product and is better than their old bar
. i measured the radius rods at 1" diameter.

I'm sure I can get more of them, I would have to verify the price of it. If you really want one now shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do for you.

i did have the beat the hell out of the frame to get the bar lined up properly, but b-series guys shouldnt have a problem with doing that

Just talked to the rep from Avid. He said they are in the process on working on a PDF file for install instructions for the bar (the bar didn't come with any).
It looks good on the car, and gave you plenty of clearance

hahah. actually the front part of my garage is a bar (although lately the bar has been used as a work bench). so i have my whole garage tiled and painted and the lower portion of the wall has wood paneling on it

this doesnt bother you guys? I havent looked at the other bars to see if there the same way...but looking at this, well looks like a bind area to me and possibly a problem with future bending.
