anybody use k20 oil filter on a h22?
I know a lot of b-series guys use the smaller k20 oil filter for a little increase in oil pressure...... will it have the same effect on a h22? Any cons to using a k20 oil filter?

They are the same oil filer now from honda the preludes 88-2002 us the same filer as the K20-K24. But the S2000 has a bigger filter which I personally use on my preludes

I'd think you'd want the largest filter you could fit. The oil flows through the filter first, then the engine, so if the filter is too small and restricts flow, that means you're not flowing enough oil into the engine, right?
That said, I use Wix 51344 or 51334. 51344 is oversized.

If that was the case everybody would run a filter off an insight. Which literally 1/2 the size of a standard filer.

I worked at honda for a while. I will say that I never worked on an insight. But the same filter is used on every single honda I worked on exept for the s2000. Same oring for the drainplug. The passport had a copper washer but that was the only exeption. But I can't say for insight.

so if the s2000 filter is to be used is there any difference between the s2k with the 2.0 and the new ones with the 2.2...or are both filters the same?does the flow of oil contribute to the way vtec engages??

They are the same.
The higher the oil pressure inside the filter (smaller filter) just means the the by-pass valve is activated earlier, meaning you are flowing unfiltered oil through your motor.
On the other hand, bigger filters are able to flow more oil before the by-pass is activated. During high RPM's the filter has to keep up with the oil flow though it, if you have a smaller filter the bypass valve gets activated earlier than a larger filter. S2k filter

the all used the same filters until a few years ago when the came out with the smaller filter.
they do the same thing they fit the same cars. It really is not that big of a deal.
They used to all be the bigg ones. and now they use the small ones.
So your car can use either.
