Lately ive started doing the electrical/ecu work on my myself. its new but im in the dark on a lot of stuff.

For myself, and anybody who doesnt know, how do you check what code is being thrown? I never understood how my friend looked at the ecu and can name it right off.

From what ive read a little here and there (search option and google hasnt helped me) it has something to do with the red light on the ecu.

FOR ME: i got a d16z6 p28 in my crx. The ecu DOES NOT have the little red light on it. Either it doesnt come with it or mine was taken off. My ecu is chipped for boost so i wouldnt be surprised if some cosmetics were missing.

So please, how do i check what code my ecu is teling me. Speak to me like i dont know a damn thing. Talk to me like your steriotypical new guy, your gf (who hates your car) or something. I jsut need to know so i can stop fighting with my ecu!
