automatic LS
i was just curious how much a conversion to manual would probably run me. i really want a manual tranny but i'm kind of stuck with this car until next summer when i get my Altima Coupe
Depends, if you can find another wreacked manual trans car with all the parts you need, and you can do the labor yourself, it could be cheap.
Anyway check the FAQ, theres alot of stuff on it there
Here are some links I used:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1746846 (This ones for going LS-GSR also...)
EDIT: To tell you the truth, all said and done, I could have sold my auto GS and put the money I put into the swap and just buy a GSR... maybe even a type R...
I did a OBD2a auto GS to OBD1 manual GSR - so it was alot with the vtec, etc., but all said and done it was a HUGE headache, and the car still has some kinks in it
Now that its done, am I happy with it? Yeah, it kicks ***.
Would I do it again? Absolutly not.

a manual ls tranny will cost you around $300. the other misc parts will run around 50-100.

umm...I wouldnt agree there...The shift linkage alone is near 100 bucks...this is NOT counting the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, MC and SC, and the mounts

anybody who pays $100 for a shift linkage is an idiot. it should come with the tranny.
however, i completely forgot about the clutch, flywheel, and the conversion mount. you can find a used oem flywheel for around $50-70, and a new oem-style exedy clutch is $110 on ebay. the pedals, slave cylinder, and clutch line should easily cost under $100. as for the conversion mount, i have no idea what it costs, so i'll take your word for it at $200.

i don't know how hmotors works, but if you go to a junkyard they're not going to pull the shift linkage off the tranny before giving it to you. it's a pretty accepted idea that the linkage is a part of the tranny.

actually at pick n pull in Tallahassee and U-Pull It in Davie...the linkage is charged for seperately...but dif places dif policy i would assume..but from my experience thats how its usually been
according to this thread, people who have done it said expect to pay anywhere from $1300-$2000 for everything including labor

according to edmunds.com the integra ls gets 1 mpg better with a manual than with an automatic. your dad is confused.

I did it, and if anything I get better gas milage.
because I went from a auto LS to a stick GSR, my Highway rpms @ 80 MPH went from a little over 3000RPM to about 4000RPM now... so I guess im buring slightly more gas on long highway rides
BUT, I drive pretty much the same every month and my montly gas bill hasn't changed much (Well, Price droped of gas, but the amount of galons I buy remains roughly the same)
anyway if you wanted to bypass this problem just swap in a manual LS tranny and ull be around 3500RPM i believe
Simply swapping auto-manual will not give you "horriable gas milage" - in my experiance anyway... Yeah the final gear may be shorter, but the differnece in gas consumption is minimal. Plus you can use 5 gears to get up to speed rather then 4- so you can keep the acceleration RPMS down if you wanted.... no fun in that tho
