Default thermostat!!!

hey i need to replace my thermostat how do you go about uninstalling and installing a thermostat for a dohc zc it in my 1990 rex so yeah if you have a diagram or sumthin or any info on going about this then that would be great thanks!!!!!!

1)Drain Coolant
2)Undo Thermo housing
3)Remove gasket and thermo
4)Reverse process, make sure to remove all old gasket and that thermo bleed hole is facing up
5)Fill and bleed coolant system

just get one for an si of the same year. i just got done doing mine an hour ago. its in the bottom hose where it goes into the block

you have to drain the coolant? thought you could just put the new one in then top up the coolant then bleed.

draining the coolant isnt a must. but the steps are correct. dont forget to use common sense.

This is true, but I always drain/flush any time I open up my cooling system.
