so it's been realy cold lately and now when I try to start my car the key won't turn
It feels like it's one of those thing where if you jiggle the steering wheel or column it'll turn but it's not that. Can the coldness do something to the ignition?
Have you ever had the ignition switch replaced under the Honda recall scheme ? There is a known fault on Prelude ignition switches, Honda dealers will replace with a new switch free of charges if you contact them.
Right : I was thinking of 5th gen, but you could give the dealers a ring to be sure, I can't say for sure if the recall applies to pre 97 cars. But that switch does sound dodgy ? You could try a squirt of WD-40 into the ignition lock while the key is in it, that might lubricate the tumblers in the ignition just enough to get you running.
tried wd-40 with no luck. Just had to jiggle it for a few minutes everytime which is a pain in the ***. Any other tips?
Sorry pal but having tried the temporary fixes it looks like you need a new ignition switch in there. At least once you get it done that should be the end of the hassle with having to jiggle the key.

do you mean key is worn down? It works flawlessly in all the doors and trunk.

you should take your key and car to a locksmith and have them recut the key back to orginal depths. called cutting it back to code. I used to be a locksmith and would try that before anything. if you can't get the ignition to turn over justt take the key they might be able to do it without the car if they know what they are doing.
