how do i check error codes on a 88 civic

Default how do i check error codes on a 88 civic

some one help me out on this.... i dont know much on the obd-0 civic's i knoe there a led on the ecu but what do i do to get it to flash ?

each quick flash is single digit, he long flash is a 1- , two long flashes 2 and so forth, then look up in your chilton book

If there isnt a flash then there isnt a code. if the cel is on and there is no flash, reset the ecu and see what happens

turn the key to the on position,look at the ecu red light..count the blinks

1 short blink =1 ,,1 long blink = 10..for example 3 short blinks is code 3,,1 long blink and 3 short blinks is code 13..

after you fix the code remove the ecu fuse or disconnect battery for about a min to reset the ecu

yea i know about the short and long flash's .. so the light comes on by itself ? theres no jumper anywhere ?this is the first obd 0 ihave have ever messed with

When you turn the key far enough to get your electrical gear turned on, the ECU will flash. If more than one code, they will display with a pause in between....That all there is to it.... pretty tight, huh?

yea i do it on the 5th gen all the time ... but on this car the light dont come on
