Quick opinion on driving
So me n the roomate got into a big ordeal. We were pulling into dennys parking lot and its was ice he hit the brakes with the clutch disengaged in which his tires locked up and he slid right into the building. I told him that i think he should have left the clutch out so that his tires wouldnt lock up with the engine firing and he could brake. Obviously the car could stall and the tires would lock anyways. He thought it wouldnt help at all. What do u guys think?
what do I think? Never eat at dennys again
Umm--i dunno if your talking about loss of traction on an icey surface, its really no use. Its ice--i would think your brakes would lock clutch in or out--i doubt he had time to engine brake or anything

The ebrake was the last resort. We were going straight towards the building anyways forget the ebrake in genearl try to leave it in second and apply the brakes or push the clutch in???

How fast were you going? If it was ice and you were going anything over 5mph, I doubt you would've been able to stop the car anyways short of jumping out and pushing in the opposite direction.
Or you could've popped the car into reverse and gunned it haha...that's what I probably would've done as a last resort option.

i was thinking that too, only if both wheels were locked up front because itll grind like a bitch if ur moving forward and try it.....

Yeah both tires were locked. Thanks on the opinions guys We were probably doing around 10mph or so. Snow sucks unless ur in an empty parking lot.
Driving too fast for conditions. If the tires lose traction, it doesn't matter if you stay on the brake or downshift, you're screwed. Feathering or pumping may have slowed you a little better, but the wall would have gotten you anyway. Hidden ice patches. I hate surprises like that.
