Default How Hard To Mod DC 4-2-1 Ceramic Header?

My DC header is really holding back my built B18C...

For someone experienced, how hard would it be to mod the 2" collector on my header to 2 1/2 inches?? Is it even possible to weld up to the ceramic coating or would that just be ground off first?

I really don't have the cash right now for a proper header, so I was wondering about this option...

I'm not sure how much it'll help but this is the link for the mod to eldebroks header.

I've done this and oh boy does it help. I had a **** DC like you on my lsvtec the modded elbrok was a HUGE upgrade less then 200 as well

good luck.

Anything is doable if u can do it, but i think the edelbrock is a better candidate because the primaries on it are the largest for a street legal header and doing the 2.5 collect mod on it will benefit more.

But you can get some Edbelbrock headers like that with 1-3/4" primaries and 2" secondaries. DC 4-2-1s are 1-5/8" x 1-3/4".

I found this Edelbrock header: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1 but the listing says 1 5/8" primaries and no mention of secondaries... Does say that the collector is 2 1/2" though...

Confused...

Anyone got a link?

Summit listed the same specs for the edelbrock, I don't know where they are getting that info. ALL B series proflow headers have 1 3/4" prim, 2" sec. and 2" collector like smsp said. You have to mod them to get a 2.5 collector.

Some more info
