which is better Sunny or Fiber images?

 

I have seen the quality of sunny and from the outside of the hood they have a nice weave and usually don't have any defects in the carbon fiber. However they are really light so I would recommend hood pins if you purchase their hood. From what I have seen the Fiber Images hoods are pretty nice but there are some horror stories going around. If you need a sunny hood I can hook you up with one though.

 

I rather get a VIS.

 

how much do the VIS hoods go for?

 

Vis hoods are the best from what i've seen so far..350-400 depending on where you get it, (locally)

Anybody know the weights of all the Carbon Fiber hoods, and the weight of the OEM hood?

 

I thought the whole deal with VIS was that it wasn't really that much weight saved.

I finally wieghed my FAXTOR X Hood (Spoon weave)
Weighed in at ~11lbs.

 

OEM hood is around 30 something.

 

ok, what's the lightest CF hood (good quality)

 

Compared to a Fiberimages one that i've lifted.. it wasn't as light, but quality was definately there.

 

My Fiber Images hood weighs 9 lbs, but that may be partly because it doesn't fit right. It's a little short in the front, but I really don't care. Looks good coming at you, but up close I gotta give it a

I like my Fiber Images hood, its the best fitting hood i've seen so far on the cars ive seen it on in person. good fitment on the sides and front. good weave pattern.

 

how much did yours weigh....just wondering what the lightest hood on the market is...without sacrificing quality of course

 

Do you have any pics of the side fitment, looking down on the hood and looking along the edge (is it raised comared to the fenders?)

 

How much are fiber image hoods and do they have a sticker that says fiber images?

 

I`ve used both. The new Sunny hoods have a "beefier" latch area so pins are not required. I`m using one on my EK..fits perfect. Had a fiber image hood on my teg..fit and looked great. I would get either one again.

I'll be picking up a Sunny Styling hood this weekend...from the pics that I have seen the fitment is top notch...but since you're in SoCal vtecvoodo is selling a Fiber Images hood...., the only item that I didn't like about the Fiber Image hoods is the damn name branding at the top of the hood , although I can understand it from a marketing standpoint.

That's quite nice....I hated the branding of the product...if I wanted to advertise Fiber Images I would put a sticker on my car...which is why I never bought a FI hood...although I didn't have any plans to buy a hood until a tire hit me and ruined my hood
