Got my Carbon Fiber hood, and it fit's PERFECT! Factor-X who?????
I just wanted to post since I saw all these threads on cf hoods and Factor-X recently:
I picked up a cf hood last week, as I just needed something that could get rocks hit on track, etc... I planned to drill for locking hood pins, so I didn't care about the fitment *too* much... So basically what I wanted was a cheap, almost disposable hood so that my stocker would stay nice and neat. Sure a little *bling bling* would be nice, and maybe there would be *some* weight savings..... but on a black car, the cf is noticable only in the daytime - if at all on first glance.....
I had considered Factor-X a couple months ago when all the hubub started, but the waiting list and fact that they were still in development (along with the fact that I was broke at the time) kept me from placing an order.
Well, I ended up getting a VIS hood for super cheap (local buddy hooked me up and I'm not sure he wants his name getting around). I was concerned that the fitment would look like ****. I was prepared for it. But I just needed a cheap hood, right?
Well we put it on last night (me, Cosworth, b18cRx) and it fits like ****** OEM! lol
Everything about the hood is top notch, from the weave (couldn't find any imperfections) to the packaging (foam reinforcements were used everywhere, and it was wrapped in foam wrap + corners had wood protection blocks too, and the whole thing came in a cardboard box, just like an oem hood). The cf wraps underneath the hood, and the fender gaps are like STOCK. To give you an idea, I've seen everything from jdmhondaparts, to fiber images, to kaminari hoods (which are nice), and this one fits even BETTER.
I took a couple quick pics last night (sorry dialup guys):
Now I want to say that I have known Yoshi for a long time and he would never endorse a product he doesn't believe in. If I didn't get such a good deal locally, I would have definitely gotten a Factor-X hood... I assure you he will do everything in his power to make sure you get the best hood possible, and I'm confident he will get all of your customer service inquiries answered.

I have no affiliation with VIS or any other company. I just wanted to pass my experience on you guys. I previously swore to myself that I would never buy a riceboy product such as VIS is depicted in the NOPI ads... But I'd seen enough locally and they fit better than any other hoods I've seen, so I took a chance...
I am very surprised. I'll take some more daylight pics when I get a chance. I went the budget route and got the rubber seal from a junkyard and will throw that on tonight. I'll try to take some more pics then.

Well that answers the question that i was about to post. I was in texas this weekend and was caught in a pretty bad hail storm. The hood is trashed, luckily no damage to the roof or the trunk, just to the hood and right fender. I went to get an estimate for the damage yesterday and my insurance company will be giving me a check in the next day or two for $1680.00 minus my $250 deductabel. So, instead of paying an arm and a leg to a body shop to fix the hood i was going to order a carbon fiber hood and get the dent in the fender fixed at a local paintless dent repair shop. My only question was wich one to get. I had a fiber images and i wasn't happy with the way it fit so i sold it. The VIS looks great on your car, now all i need to know is how much it cost and where to order one without waiting forever. If anyone can help me out i would appreciate it. Thanks. Hail sucks!
btw, I have a brand new sunny hood for sale..$325
need to blow this sucker out FAST

After seeing a friend of mine's FactorX hood, I was almost convinced that I wanted that one, fitment and quality seemed great. Now they both seem pretty good, time to find a deal....
