I was driving on the freeway (straight) and out of nowhere i lost all gears, i pulled over and my passenger side axle had popped out of the tranny. I took it to a shop where they replaced the axle. The cv boot was busted but the axle had not broke nor were the splines messed up. So im driving on the freeway the next day and the same exact thing happens. I take it to a shop and they basically just put the axle back in. Now when i make hard right turns there is Alot of wheel chatter and while running through 1st and 2nd there is a slight vibration but otherwise it seems to drive fine. It just doesn't feel exactly right, what do you guys think.

the fluid would be low in the tranny after an axle popped out, so maybe you fried the lsd? just a guess.

 

Crappy reman axle installed? Some of these can vibrate.

I have had a few axles that were hard to get seated into the tranny. Eventually they go in and the C-clip will hold it in solid. But if a lazy mechanic gets tired of fooling with it, he might just leave it and hope it seats itself, or the opposite, comes out.

And check your fluid level as mentioned, and be sure to use the right MTF for the LSD tranny.

 

Alot of fluid came out both times the axle popped out. I replaced the fluid and it is at proper level. Before the axle popped out the first time I had no problems with the tranny except a little 3rd & 4th gear grind now and then. I want to know why the axle popped out in the first place because odds are thats why it did it again even with the new one.
