Default having idle problems

i seached and didnt really find anything to helpfull. my idle is surging from around 1500 to 2300ish rmps. when i bought the car it idled fine, as it got colder it started idling a little higher than i like(around 2300rpm) then started surgeing while cold, but when it was warmed up it would settle down to 900ish. now it does it all the time. oh yeah......no freakin cel.

i thought it was throttle body gasket leaking. replaced it and nothing changed.

checked all vaccuum lines and everthing looks to be good. i have a boost gauge sitting in my room, cant i hook it up to the mani, to see if the vaccuum is right? and what should it be at idle??

cleaned iac(think thats what it was, on front right side on IM) and nothing changed.

took fiac(bottom of throttle body) off and cleaned and screwed in the cold idle adjuster in a couple of turns. nothing changed.

unplugged tps, it threw a cel, so i reset the battery and cranked it back up to see no change in idle.

is there a sensor that could be bad and not throwing a cel?

i do have a slight exhaust leak inbetween the exhaust manifold and 02 sensor, but it has been there since i bought the car. i have noticed the catalytic converter is making a rattling noise at certain rpms, is there any way the cat could make this happen if it went bad? thanks a lot for reading all this and any help is greatly appriciated.

i have read that you have to adjust the nut on the EGR valve. mine has the same idle problem, i just haven't had the time to adjust the EGR.

isnt the egr only on during partial throttle? if so, i dont see how the egr can affect the idle. plus i would be thorwing a code i think. let me know if this is right

when its cold its goes from 1800 to about 2500, when fully warm its from 1200 to 2200, so it does change depending on the temp.. so does this rule out anything??
